Weldotherm® heat treatment units

provide accurate, professional preheating and optimum heat-treatment in all places under any conditions. We develop and mass produce fully automatic, programme controlled heat treatment units in all performance sizes with a different number of control circuits. They fulfil the highest standards in heat treatment accuracy and convince with their robustness and reliability.

Heat treatment unit VAS series

Our high tech series for all heat treatment processes convinces with convenient operation and intelligent technology. For highest precision during heat treatment, it provides 6 or 12 separately operating control circuits, with fewer or more control circuits being supplied, depending on requirements. The VAS series fulfils all the necessary features for high handling and safety demands. As a result they are for instance also used in nuclear power plants.

Heat treatment unit STANDARD EUROPA series

A robust and durable heat treatment unit series with many of the technical components and functions of the VAS series. For pre-heating and annealing work of the highest accuracy with simple programming.

Induction heat treatment unit VAI

This pioneering induction heat treating unit generates heat in a material at a depth of 2 to 3 mm, substantially accelerating the annealing process. Further advantages are that the surface does not overheat and set-up times are minimised.

Inverter heat treatment unit WR 10.5

Weldotherm®- quality in the handy form of a flight bag. With high performance for precise heat treatment and weighing only approx. 17kg, this compact, portable heat treatment unit is ideal for use in jobs where access is difficult.

Special heat treatment units

Special units based on different case types or converted sea containers. They are designed to ensure professional heat treatment independent of power sources in undeveloped areas. Available as trailers with MOT approval for lorries or as transport carriages with runners.

Heating elements

Weldotherm® heating and preheating elements

are robust heating elements which are particularly stable and durable, and optimally transfer heat to the workpiece.

Heating mats

As with all Weldotherm heating elements, our heating mats are made of aluminium oxide ceramics (96%) and semiconductor materials (NiCr 80/20). They are particularly robust and durable and are suitable for all kinds of pipe and vessel circumferential vessel welds, seam welded bends, nozzles and flange seams, in addition to surface heating. Application limit: 1050°C.

Coil inductor, air cooled

Our air cooled inductors consist of aluminium wire that is encased in a stainless steel and glass fibre protective tube. These robust coil inductors have proven themselves under harsh site conditions and heat workpieces up to 780 °C. They are thus suitable for all preheating and annealing processes.

Coil inductor, water cooled

Our water cooled coil inductors consist of copper wire and are insulated with a silicon Kevlar shell. Temperatures up to 1250 °C can be reached. These inductors are used when a high performance is required in a small area. Typical applications include the heat treatment of nozzles or of components with a complicated structure.

Custom designed inductors

Custom designed inductors are special inductors which are custom made for individual applications. They consist of a copper pipe with bend protection and are encased in a special VITON-KEVLAR insulation. They are suitable for non-contact preheating of components up to 500 °C. Typical applications are the preheating of rotating vessels and rollers.

Heating tapes

These robust heating tapes can be customised to the workpiece particularly well and are the ideal heating element for circumferential welds on pipes, pipe walls and arches, bends and seams, that are difficult to access. In addition, they also serve to dress flanges and fitting connections. Application limit: 1050°C.

Spreader mats

Due to their flexible design, spreader mats always bring the optimum temperature to any desired part of the workpiece. Areas of application include point, flange and fitting weld seams, nozzle welds as well as conical and crowned workpieces. Application limit: 1050°C.

One-line-heating cables

Our one-line-heating cables has an outer sheath made of austenite wire mesh, making the shell flexible and heat-resistant. Ideal for welds on pressure vessels, flange connection welds and boiler walls, fittings and shaped part connection welds, in addition to superheater pipes, as well as small ones. Application limit: 1050°C.

Two-line-heating cable

Two-line-heating cables are suitable for the heat treatment of small pipes as well as for special applications.

Preheater

Preheater have a back insulation which is made of 25mm ceramic fibre in Inconel wire mesh and the back protector is made of stainless steel sheet. Application areas include circumferential welds on pipes, connections on pressure vessels, circumferential tank welds and longitudinal tank welds. Application limit: 450°C.

Magnetic Preheater

Our magnetic preheater are equipped with high temperature resistant magnets. Its back insulation is made of 25mm ceramic fibre in Inconel wire mesh and the back protector is made of stainless steel sheet. Application areas include circumferential welds on pipes, connections on pressure vessels, circumferential tank welds and longitudinal tank welds. Application limit: 450°C.

Flexible Heater – Wraparounds

If the same tube diameter must be heat treated often, the wraparounds save time and money. This flexible heaters are custom made for the appropriate diameter and reduce set-up times to a minimum, since no time consuming fixing of heaters and insulation material is required. Application limit: 950°C, for wraparounds with thermocouple bayonet elements max. 800°C.

Magnetic Heating Boxes

Three high temperature resistant specialist magnets independently hold the magnet preheater in its place. The back insulation is made of 25mm ceramic fibre in Inconel wire mesh, the back protector is a robust box construction made of stainless steel with handles for ease of use. Ideal for longitudinal plate welds in shipbuilding, on box girders of steel constructions and straight tank welds. Application limit: 450°C.

Channel Heaters

Weldotherm channel heaters are installed in robust stainless steel sheet metal boxes and are used for the heat treatment of column plate welds and large circumferential vessel welds as well as for the heating of temporary and stationary furnaces. Application limit: 850°C.

Measuring and control engineering

The intelligent WELDOTHERM® measurement and control engineering

ensures the accurate monitoring and timely operation of heat treatment units. For the easy and precise programming and control of our heat treatment units we offer interesting options.

Program controller DIGIT 700

The program controller DIGIT 700 is a logical development of the DIGIT series and has been specially optimized for the requirements of heat treatment technology. The proven numeric keypad allows convenient input of program parameters. Five additional function keys facilitate the operation and program input.

DIGIT 1000 control system

The DIGIT 1000 control system replaces the previously common individual programmers. It is operated via a touch panel. The 6 zone version offers a 10.4 inch touch screen and the 12 zone version a 12.1 inch one. Each control zone is completely Independent.

Program controller TC 80

The TC 80 replaces TC 60 which was previously installed in the standard series of heat treatment units. The programming and operation occurs via 5 function keys and can be verified via two easily readable 7 segment displays.

Program controller TC 1000

The TC 1000 offers the latest technology with touch screen operation. It has 6 fully independent, freely programmable control zones. 5 programmes can be stored for each zone.

Temperature recorder models KH 60-6 and KL 60

Our temperature recorders are electronic hybrid printers with large digital displays and classic recording on paper. The printouts are accepted as data documents by TÜV.

Temperature recorder models RSG 35 / RSG 40

RSG temperature recorder are electronic, multilingual paperless recorders. The RSG 35 can capture 4 to 12 measurement points and the RSG 40 captures up to 20. The recorders save measurement data on compact Flash memory cards of up to 512MB and are extremely precise, with a tolerance of ± 0.3% of the measurement area.

Large temperature led display

They are employed there where the heat treatment parameters cannot be read directly. The large and easy to read LED display provides information about zone number and temperature. With a character height of 50 mm, a detection of data from a distance of up to 25 metres is guaranteed. With a length of over 100,000 hours, the operating lifespan of units is also convincing.

Welding signal lights

For easy visual monitoring of temperature limits during welding. Three light signals can be connected to the control unit and limits can be configured individually via the touch panel.

Calibration unit MK 1300

Weldotherm® recommends this robust precision measurement and calibration device for use on construction sites. Through the use of a toggle, temperatures can be simulated or measured precisely. The measurement device has a built-in reference junction to compensate for the surrounding temperature.

Dial thermometer WELDOTHERM® MOF

A practical, classic dial thermometer for preheating work where no fixed thermocouple can be mounted on the workpiece. The thermometer adheres to all ferritic material surfaces with the help of two bar magnets on the back.

Magnetic surface sensor MOS 450

The surface sensor is attached to the workpiece with a magnetic clamp and can detect surface temperatures of up to 450 °C.

Gliding thermocouple OS 450

Workpiece temperatures between 50°C and 450°C can be detected quickly and accurately with the gliding thermocouple. It is ideally suited to measure surface temperatures of rotating and linear axis components.

Infrared temprature measuring device DM 201

This infrared temperature measuring device is suitable for the accurate non-contact measuring and recording of temperatures of up to 900°C.

Radio transmission system RTX 200

Composed of a transmitter and receiver, the system allows the transmission of a measurement value which was recorded with a thermocouple on a rotating component. The operation of the radio technology is free and approved worldwide.

The Weldotherm® accessories

range offers everything that is important and helpful for professional and effective heat treatment.

Power cables, air cooled

The power cables for air cooled induction units consist of a robust rubber cable for use with aluminium inductors. Should the cables be damaged during use on construction sites, they can be easily repaired.

Power cables, water cooled

The power cable for water cooled induction units for use with water cooled coil inductors or custom designed inductors.

Positioner for inductors

Using a positioner, custom designed inductors can be moved precisely to the component which is to be heated in order to ensure optimum heating.

Magnet holder for inductors, single

These magnet holders are indispensable for securing coil inductors on vertical and round components. In the single version, the inductors are attached with a pot magnet, when only limited space is available.

Magnet holder for inductors, double

The double version magnet holders position coil inductors securely to each component with ferritic properties.

Thermocouple welder TP 2N

Thus thermocouple welding units with a diameter of 0.5 to 1.0 mm can be attached rapidly and professionally with guaranteed security. As a result of the firm connection between the workpiece and the thermocouple measurement, results are particularly accurate.

Thermocouple welder TP 2 S

The alternative to the thermocouple welder TP 2 N with a larger field of application. The device is infinitely variable for the fastening of thermocouples with a diameter of 0.1 to 1.8 mm.

Stud welding machine TP3

Should the geometry design of a material prevent the attachment of heating mats or preheaters and insulation cannot be fixed with a strap band or magnets, the rapid attachment of insulation nails or bolts helps. This positioned welding gun is the ideal device for the extremely rapid welding of bolts and insulation nails made of steel and V2A with a diameter of 2.0 to 8.0 mm.

Tightening and cutting device RONDOFIX 1

The perfect and easy to use special tools for cutting and tightening the strap band. This robust device simultaneously helps with the closing of cap locks.

Tightening and cutting device Band-It

This crank clamp is a simple and cost-effective tool for tightening and cutting metal straps with a tightening distance of approx. 120 mm.

Strap band carrier

This carrier allows the strap band to be easily transported and the end can be well uncoiled. In addition it is protected and does not get tangled.

Special rock wool scissors

The ideal cutting tool with a serrated edge for the fast cutting of rock wool with wire mesh.

Consumables

The Weldotherm® consumables

are important components for optimal and effective heat treatment under all conditions. Premium materials can handle any temperature, protect the workpieces as well as the technician and ensure competent thermal insulation, fixing and heat supply.

Ceramic fibre

Our ceramic fibre can be found as a heat resistant inner lining in industrial furnaces across the world. They also serve as insulation for local heat treatment sites. With a thickness of 12 - 50mm they act as the first shield for heating elements, both protecting and insulating them.

Ceramic fibre in wire mesh

This product is available in different mat sizes and is protected by a stainless steel wire mesh in order to prolong the lifespan of the insulation blankets.

Rock wool

For localised heat treatment, the proven rock wool is the classic standard insulation in a galvanized wire mesh. It can be used repeatedly in combination with ceramic fiber mats to cover the heating elements. Thanks to the wire mesh, a light fixing and sealing with mat hooks is possible. The rock wool scissors help cutting it.

Tygasil

An ideal and proven alternative to ceramic fibres and rock wool are Tygasil mats made of silicon oxide fabric, which are suitable for single insulation .

Glass fibre cloth

The heat resistant glass fibre cloth helps in masking the workpiece during heat treatment. It protects the welder and prevents weld slag from coming into contact with the heating elements. During induction heating it is also used to cover the workpiece to protect the induction coil heaters against radiation heat.

Glass fibre cord

The glass fibre cord acts as a strain relief for extension cables and heating element connections.

Strap band and locks

Steel strap band has proved the safest and fastest method of fixing heating elements and insulation. In conjunction with a universal clamp and cap locks, there is no cheaper solution. For annealing processes at high temperature ranges, our stainless steel band is the right choice.

Thermocouple wire

A very simple and quick way of measuring temperatures during heat treatment. The thermocouple wires transmit the data to the recorder, which then forwards the relevant information to the controller.

Mat hooks

Mat hooks are required for connecting rock wool, tightly clamping sagging rock wool to large objects or simply to intercept heat treatment elements safely.

Thermocouple putty

For the secure attachment and protection of the thermocouples.

Insulation nails and clips

Ideal for the fastening of heating elements and for the insulation of vertical and overhead walls.

Infrared gas burner

Achieve optimum heat treatment and excellent results even without electrical power, using proven Weldotherm® technology. There are situations during assembly or repair in which electrical preheating is not possible or too costly. For light or not too complex tasks, we recommend WELDOTHERM® infrared gas burners which are made of stainless steel, making them extremely light yet robust.

Infrared gas burner

The LPG powered WELDOTHERM® infrared gas burners are available in the output sizes 4 - 13 kW. A conversion to natural gas or town gas is easily possible. Various mounting frames and mounting brackets with high performance magnets ensure secure attachment. Can be supplied with flame monitoring and safety shutdown when extinguishing the burner.
